R888 Price Rise & R1R Prices

R888 gone right up in price, R1R equally expensive....no cheap deals anywhere, including Camskill, £97 for R1R and £102 for R888's, both inc vat, was told you may be lucky and get trade but that's only 10 or 20%, certainly a BIG difference from £62!!!

Ive just been quoted £76 each for 215,45.15s for T1r's sure i only paid £60 each last year for them :-(

If you know someone with race sponsorship and get Toyos direct it helps but I should be able to get for £50 a tyre, only problem is i can't get loads :(

Its because there is only a handful of special Toyo 'performance' dealers or whatever they're calling them now, they're the only ones supplied direct from toyo with R888's and obviously the price has gone through the roof due to lack of competition, i cant even get them anywhere trade now either. Last time i looked, topgear on ebay were the cheapest.

I try'ed an internet site today called TyreDrive they had them advertised on there site last week for £88 each inc Vat and Deliv. I gave them a phone call today (as they had taken them off there site) and they told me that although they are'nt on the web site they should be getting some in soon, and that the price was still £88 inc VAT.

If you check CamSkill web site there is a button for Pricebeater or something like that when you select your tyres, I filled out the form and then 20min later a phone call from Camskill asking where id found them at that price. Told the guy where and how much, he then confirmed the price and 20min after that i got another phone call saying that they would beat that price. I got them for £82 each with free deliv. Result.

The R1R is Toyo's in between tyre. More track focused then a T1R but not quite as raw as an R888.

Hope you guys can do the same and bounce these company's off each other price wise.

Having spoken to a few people it seems that the common opinion is that the RS2s will now become the track tyre of choice due to R888s now becoming increasingly unaffordable...

joke tbh, ill go back to more normal tyres now, bollcoks to paying that much, i was so pissed off the last time i had to buy one at £70, had it fitted then swiftly put a nail init, painfull.

Going to try R1R's in 195/50/R15 format on the Williams for up and coming trackday season. About £87 for 4 inc vat and delivery from camskill with a discount.

Toyos have jumped up in price around the South East as well. Gone up about £20 a corner since December.

The prices have gone up stupidly. Such a high demand for them. With the prices they are now i think the extra little bit for AO48 is well worth it.

I think its about £106 + vat for a Dunlop DZ03G 205/50/15 Road Legal Simi Slick, Far better than the 888's - http://www.mrtyremotorsport.co.uk/product.asp?id=10

give those guys a call, there dunlop tyre prices are unbeatable, give maximum discount, even drivers in the mini challege get the same prices they offered me (i just got 4 dunlop wets delivered yesterday)
