Racing Blue are you still happy

  GW Clio 200

I have just ordered Racing Blue with Gordini Stripes and have been told delivery 4 - 6 weeks. I think that will be more like 6 - 8 weeks though in reality, obviously he cant give me a firm delivery date as yet but he will do tommorrow/ Wednesday.

Love the Racing Blue but I am really nervous that I will hate the colour when the novelty wears off, need to hear from other Racing Blue owners, are you still happy with your decision...saw a Black one cup packed up and it looked superb!!

Same kinda thing happened to me mate, i dont have a 182 BTW, i ordered my 2003 dynamique in pearl black, but was told id have to wait up to 8 weeks to get it because they had none it stock, so i was like yeah ill wait, so when i was waiting on my car i saw loads of silver and blue ones n thought to myself a good few times, should i have went for either the silver or the blue?
But when i finally got my car i was happy with it and still am.

Alan.

I really fancy racing blue + stripes.

Might have preferred Arctic Blue, but after owning a cup, Id probably go for something different.

Where did you order it from? I ordered stripes but they said they still couldnt do them at the factory and they also used it as an excuse to delay my order.

I think the racing blue will have lasting appeal but the stripes will lose their novelty.

Not sure where you ordered it from but if its a factory order you will receive the car in late November or early December if you are lucky.

I very much doubt that the car will take that long, you have to realise that if you ordered in June July time the French go on Holiday for 8 weeks...Factory closes!!!

Having now opened up they will be able to meet supply fairly quickly, this will be the second time I have owned a Renaultsport and both have been ordered around this time so it should not be much of a problem....

Yeah I discussed this in another thread.

During those few weeks when the factory was shut they were still taking loads of orders especially from UK customers who like to order cars in July/August ready for the new plate on 1st Sept.

So you have the original 8 week wait plus the extra 3 to 4 weeks worth of new orders making 12 weeks.

How can they just suddenly clear all those extra orders from when the factory was shut? If they can do that why dont they keep going and get the wait down to a fortnight?

If you get yours in 6 weeks time that will be at the same time I get mine and I have a 9 week headstart on you!! All those people that ordered cars in July and August are in between me and you in the queue!!!!!

I ordered mine on 25 Aug (not in Racing Blue) and was originally told 28 Oct and now have a confirmed date of 21 Oct 2004.

My last 2 172s were delayed by if I remeber rightly a maximum of a week - so the way I think of it is - that my car will be ready for the 28 th Oct and if it comes sooner - Result...

Toypop - did you order through a Renault dealer or someone else?

I ordered through a broker who are in turn getting it from a Renault dealer - who in turn placed a factory order. I will be dead pleased if my June ordered car turns up by 21st Oct as thats around about the time the MOT runs out on the old banger I am borrowing.

I had been waiting 6 weeks by the time we hit August and the factory shut, still not been given a confirmed date. Frustrating that I cant talk to the dealer direct.

How does it work when getting the car from one of these brokers in terms of insurance and tax? Assume I have to get an insurance certificate or cover note (takes 3 days to be delivered to me), then post it to the broker (2 days), who post it to the dealers (3 days) and then they can tax it.

back on topic

i have the racing blue and have had it from the first week in march so was one of the first in the country and i absolutely love it an have never thought once that i am getting bored of it or would like to change it. Everytime i look at it it puts a smile on my face, especially when it rains and it gets a little dark, it looks fantastic then!

its not a fad colour, its a heritage colour and it nice and bright. The amount of attention it gets in traffic is also cool, nearly every day i get people pointing at me and staring as I drive past, it is a very eye catching colour and im sure the silver and black drivers do not get as much attention (no dis-respect to those colours as i also love them!) as mine does.

it is the colour that makes it instantly recongnisable as a 182 from a distance, you will not be sorry for going for it (oh and its £300 saved that i spent on the cd changer which was a bonus seeing as its the colour i wanted)
