f**king put a dent in my back rear quarter last night under the bumpstrip!!! Its creased the wing and took some paint off.:dapprove: Is there a number anyone has for the guy to come out and sort the dents??? Im in scotland btw.


Also , would the srape thats lifted some paint mean ill need a full respray of that wing and would it be pricy for LY??

If its creased thats usually new panel time, hard to get it out of the rear. Depends how bad you're talking though.

Expect a £1k+ repair bill if it is...

I've replaced a rear quarter on my old 172.

The bill was north of £1k.

I doubt it'll need a new panel though TBH!

cant say anything about what it will need of the price, untill we can actually see the damage. One thing i will say though, is LY is a pain to get the colour match right.

i had a dent in the rear 1/4 of the LY 182, very subtle unless light caught it. Brought it to 4 or 5 dent guys who said if they pushed it out it would move the paint, and the area around where the dent was would end up looking a different shade and therefore outta place

Sorry to say it mate but most garages will only respray the whole side so they can get the paint to match. Trying to match one panel directly next to another one is near on impossible with Liquid Yellow.

I have a small scratch/ chip on the passenger door, only just broken through the top layer of paint so still looks yellow, and know one will just spray the door. If it's creased, the panel will need to be filled and resprayed, and if you find someone to spray just the wing, side on it won't match the door

I've just had the rear quarter pulled out and resprayed for £350, and mine was a huge crease where someone kicked it in.

Gutted mate. Certainly won't be cheap. Just hope you get a match on the colour and the car is back to its former glory.

in Airdrie mate. im praying it can be pulled out but its doubtfull. the paint is VERY soft

Getting the dent devils or similiar in is fair enough, but please please do not let "chips away" or any similiar company near it. The amount of jobs we've had in at our garage correcting their f*ck ups is unreal.

On a car as nice as yours, I'd wait a bit to save up the cash to get it done in a top notch place. I'm afraid also it will be minimum the door and the quarter getting sprayed with it being LY - it's a 3/4 stage colour depending what paint scheme is used.

im scared to phone reno tbh. ill wait and see what advice the dent guy gives before i fork out. but your right , id want it done right although i had thought of selling next year.

Had a good ol' dent in my back rear quarter, looked like someone had rammed it horizontally with something that had a small edge.
Had to be filled cause it would have cracked the paint otherwise, and pretty much the whole panel bar the top of the back windows was resprayed.
Colour was spot on though, finish was orange peely as f**k unfortunately. Since been polished out.

ive used SL dent repair (google them) he is in kirkfield bank, just before lesmahago, he done some dents on my clio in his drive way. (ivited me round to his house, done them in a blizzard too was well impressive)
