I use mine on the silver daily hack, but not on the black one.

As long as your careful they should be safe, but there is a risk.

there was a bloke at work who used to take off a windcreen wiper to wipe the rain off.

Just re read the thread, would not use anything bar a full wash on dirty rain watered covered car.

I have a Hydra Blade and never noticed any damage induced by it, just rinse it with water before using it. However I only use it on my windows now just to be on the safe side... a great time saving device in my opinion, just be careful though as people have said.
