Random tube??? Vacuum pipe maybe?

Car  Clio 182 Blue
Hi guys,

I was having a little look around my engine today and found something a bit odd

It looks as if the padding next to the auxiliary belt side of the engine has been worn through by the crank pulley and within this padding there is a pipe that has pressed into the pulley also and worn completely through.

I assume as nothing has come out of it it must be a vacuum or air hose of some type.

Does anybody have any idea what it might be?

This is not for the acoustic valve that is the other side of the engine bay.

Carbon cannister is over that side of the engine bay (behind the wheel arch), could be piping for that.

The fuel feed line is also, but you'd porbably have noticed if it was that.

He shouldve noticed the CC pipe have a hole in it too with high idle etc.
The idle is pretty high when I first start it but after a bit of driving it drops to normal.

It is definitely the CC pipe, removed part of the bumper and felt around.

How crucial is the carbon canister, and where abouts does this pipe lead to from the carbon canister?

Should I blank it? or try and replace/repair it?
