Rattle when letting off the throttle

Afternoon guys,

Ok, so I'm getting a rattle on the car when driving the car but it sounds (wait for it)... two washers a couple of mm apart but I've not a clue what it could be, It sounds like its just infront of the gear linkage. Its only developed since we've had it on track, we've uprated the Dog Bone mount.

I know I'm being vauge but its the best I can do I'm not massiveley mechanically minded but I do try.

I don't think it will be. Check the heatshield first. Is it like a metalic sound? Do you notice it all the time, cold, hot or both?

Yeah its metalic sounding and its Hot or Cold. Like I say sounds like two washers rattling, Ill have a nosy tomorrow after work.

It's a difficult one trying to guess the noise so to speak. But I will put 3p on a loose heatshied

I'm with @imprezaworks in that the first place I'd try is both heatshields. The one on the starter motor is my bet.

No well It doesn't seem to be cracked, I think thats just s**t where it looks cracked there.

Quite common for breaking.

Probably the worst job on these IMO. I deploy the ginger dwarf to do mine. Otherwise I'd set it on fire.

You have never done an engine mount on a DB7 Vantage.
