Rattling Car...

  Clio 1.2 16v
When i have the subs up loud the car bodywork outside shakes and i can't stop. I've isolated some it ( the back speakers just distorted like s**t shaking the car ) if i press on the car the opposite side of the speakers it stops...

so im going to take those out and just replace the components at the front with a really good set amped up. I won't bother with 6x9s but what i really posted about, is there any others ways i can calm the vibrating down, you don't notice from inside but outside sounds pretty s**t anything above an average volume..

what should i do ? literally just replace the factory speakers, or use some sort of sound deading underneath carpet?

Cheers guys

(don't post if your just going to say get rid of the subs its no help to me at all )

True, and i did think about it, but i wanted to see how bad it was after i got them in so i could make the changes after that, its all being changed around this month so wil let you know.

Do i have to sound deaden the entire car or just the boot?

Yeh it aint the speakers mate. The bodywork is so flimsy aswell. In the doors there is a plastic honeycomb formation (to prevent crash damage i think) it rattles on the panel. You need to buy about 30-40 sq. foot of sound deadeneing to do the inner door cavity and behind the door panel itself, and then some in the boot compartment(floor and door panel). Did mine about a month ago , makes a lot of difference.

well tbh i have asked bout just sound deadenin certain parts n i have been told that it will just move the rattle not remove it so u need to do the whole car tbh but it is a painfulli expensive process apparently if you use the right stuff

Its an easy diy job, 2 afternoons really. The doors and boot ar the notorious places, due to speakers being in those areas, putting deadening in those areas will remove the rattle. I used e-dead, same as dynamat but a fraction of the price.

the clio rattles are nothing compared to my last car 1.2 8v corsa lol. where i had a welded smoothed boot which rattleld to f**k, 16" low profile tyres and slammed 70mm on shitty fk coilovers lol.

the clio is luxury for me lol

It does get annoying though, you can't tell from inside but outside it sounds horrible, im taking the passenger speakers out, and ive got some new custom door cards so i can fit 17cm components in, should sound heck of alot better, no distortion from tweets anyways, the new door card are sound proofed so should make alot of difference, depending it sounds after then i may have to sound proof everything
