re set ecu

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
i had a servive on my clio at a peugeot dealership,
they changed the spark plugs and all the usual stuff, but sinse i got it back its been abit wierd, it will randomly cut out afther ive just started it,
occasionally the revs will jump between 500 and 1500, then drop and cut the car out.

also just before stalling the electrical fault light will come on

just wondering if the ecu needs reseting after the service ?

also would be handy to no how to do it anyway

doesn't need resetting after a service, i'd get it to reno, if the electrical fault light has come on it should have stored a fault code

I'm pretty sure that you can't actually reset the ecu, I think only renault can do it.
I've had my battery off for ages before and the car always starts straight away and runs fine, with the fords i've had experience with they run a bit rough for about 5 or so miles as the ecu relearns all the value it had stored.

Could just be talking crap though :dapprove:, but thats my understanding.

i no on focus's you can reset the ecu by holding the revs at a certain level for 5 mins then doin other stuff

cant afford to take it to renault lol

and no need 4 a radio code lol got a full screen system goin on
