Rear Bearings - removal?

Car  RenaultSport clio 172 mk1
Hi, Rear disk is not that bad but the bearing has gone.

Is it easy to remove the bearing? if so whats the method?
circlips - just pushed in?

Any help would be useful

They need to be pressed in/out.
I doubt you'll get them in or out without a press, also best to change the bearings on both sides.

Take the discs of and run them to a back street garage who will charge you approx £10 to remove old bearings and press your new one's in.

You may be better off just buying discs from renault which have the bearings already pressed into them for about £90 iirc

Hi, thanks - was thinking of changing the whole disc/bearing but thought as the discs are still ok, it would be a little cheaper to just change the bearings (thought the discs were about 160 quid??)

You may be right, it was a cpl of years now since I bought mine and I cannot find the receipt.

Have you tried GSF or ECP?

Mine reno rears worked out at 195ish once vat and new hubnuts added.

Get the bearings from euro car parts hate to reccomend them but they do the same snr ones at half the price of reno, come with hubnuts aswell, as per above a tenner (or even free if you know someone) to get em pressed and job done.

Do do both sides if you can.

Its hard to get them out without damaging the discs. GSF sell the discs, bearings, abs ring all in one neat Renault package for £131 delivered. You could probably then sell the good side, someone is bound to have the same problem and needs just 1 disc.
