Rear brake disc wear

  Ex 182 owner
Hi all,
Have noticed that both my 182 and Trophy appear to have an area of the rear disc they don't appear to touch. The outer side face are fine but the inner face lower 1/3( nearest the centre) never seems to clear of rust. I'd this common? Is there a part of the caliper I can service to change this?

Thank you in advance.

Having had 10 years to think about it, i think his caliper/sliders might have started to seize 😅
Mine were refurbed 2 years ago and at the begining it was fine, now the outer disc edge started to rust again, like there's no contact with the pad there. It's so annoying. I have a theory on thist though: the car sits outside so moisture creeps on that area, slightly eats the metallic compound in the pad and the pad becomes brittle on the outside, thus not contacting the disc properly, then the disc begins to rust, the pad also and if the car doesn't do many miles to burn the pads you get what you get. Mine only did like 3k miles in the last year so.. there you go

Have you got a picture of them?

My rear disk edges are corroding and it spends 99% of its time in the garage 🤷🏻‍♂️ Here they are in comparison to the fronts.
