Rear brakes etc changed today, few questions...

  AB182, Audi A5 3.0
I changed the rear discs/bearings/pads and coils, just wanted to check a few things that I want sure about:

The rear beam fell spat down on the ground when I removed both dampers (should of have a jack under it but forgot, silly me!), the impact was on the brake carriers, would I have damaged anything on the brakes from this event? It doesn't seem like it after a drive but thought I would ask anyway.

The bolts that hold the carrier to the calliper, I did them up to 105nm the first time around and then read that it should be 60nm, so I compromised and went for 70nm as 60 didn't feel tight at all, what the correct torque? Any danger from being a bit over 60nm if that is the correct value? Is thread lock essential? I only has a small bit so they didn't get much.

Which way around is the spacer/washer behind the bearing supposed to go? I put it so the contoured edge was towards the hub and the flat side was against the bearing. The fell off the old ones and I didn't think to look which was around they were on the axel!

Only way to learn isnt it. Calipers should be fine. I rarely use threadlock. Never had any issue in 7yrs. No idea what the torque is. Tights tight, too tights fucked.

Sound like this should be in a garage being worked on if you arnt sure...

um no lol it wasn't hard and it appears to be working fine. I have changed loads of brakes but have always had torque settings on hand and have never come across such a washer/spacer before. If you're capable but not 100% on a small bit, you don't give up and hand it to someone else, you ask the question!!!

Thanks, im sure the bolts will be fine, now I just need someone to confirm the orientation of the washer.

When you say outwards, do you mean facing outwards from my view angle (ie will end up facing the bearing) or the other way around. My flag side was clean and the contoured edge was dirty so I too that to be the side that was away from the bearing...

Thank f**k for that! Lol. Thanks Tony :) for a second I thought you meant outwards when being placed on the bearing whilst it's off the axel! Lol.

As you push it on the hub, the angled side goes on facing towards the hub, so you will be looking at the flat side.
