Rear Brakes MOT Query

Gents,
have seen various posts mentioning how bad the rear brakes are on the 172 Cup (mine just scraped through its first MOT last year on rear brake efficiency). Am sure I have also seen a post saying that VOSA have released something about MOT'ing these cars. Is this correct? If so is there anything I can quote or mention at the testing station as I am taking the car in for its MOT on Friday. Have replaced brakes all round (including braided hoses and new brake fluid) but am still nervous that it will fail on c**p rear brakes anyway. Any guidance appreciated.

Cheers for the prompt reply Yoz, but does that release only apply to pre computerised testing - last time I had it MOT'd the tester had the brake efficiency results and input them into a computer system (presumably the VOSA database) he didn't know weather it would pass until the system said it was OK and subsequently printed out the certificate

no idea, but thats an offical release from the VOSA site, print it off and take it with you, any problems make them ring VOSA HQ with the chassis number

Cannot legally have one and use it.

There loads whcih can be fitted after all its the same shell as the normla spec ars its just not type approved

You can bolt any Clio tow bar onto a 172, but not a 182.

You cna get one to fit the 182 and the 172 off the shelf but they cannot be used legally as neither of them is type approived for the 172 or 182 series cars.

You can bolt any Clio tow bar onto a 172, but not a 182.

you can get one for a 182, there's a trophy with one fitted!!! lol

true as i remember seeing the pics when it had a trailer ....lol
