Rear caliper problems

  V6 255 Illiad Blue
Has anyone had a problem with the rear caliper sticking on a Vee? I have a 255 V6 Mk2 and the rear offside caliper has decided to stick. It is less than 3 years old so should be a warranty but i have got EBC reds on the rear. Has anyone had a problem with warranty complaints after using different pads?

You shouldn't have any issue with different pads since the dealership just send the failutly party back not the pads so Renault will never know its got different pads in.

Pads, dampers, discs.... i'd accept wear and tear but calpiers should not sieze in the warranty period.
Thats like saying it's fair enough if the main bearing journals to wear as oil isn't covered under warranty

I'm more concerned with the fact that the garage would look at the EBC reds, decide oh, he didn't get them done here and reject any form of warranty complaint

Don't know if they rear calipers are the same as 172/182's but i've seen em seize on newer calipers ,the only thing that can really seize is the adjuster screw inside the caliper , if it rusts it will seize and i've seen 1 rust .

The pads will make fcuk all difference as to whether it will seize .You could try and claim under the warranty , depends how good / helpful your dealership is . If they should refuse tell em your going to speak to Renault customer services , it might persuade them to be more helpful ;)
