Rear Diamond

Hi,
i painted my front and back diamonds from my mk3 clio.
I managed to just pull them off from the outside without breaking any clips or anything but i can't manage to get the rear one back on.
Am i going to have to take all the boot lining trim out to get the back plate the diamond sits on to get it back on properly??

Any help please

Can't get it on as in, it fits but falls off, or cant get it to fit at all?

I got the b*****d back on, I just took the boot trim off and then the back plate off the car lol.
