Rear disc & pad change

Evening all

I need to get the pads and discs changed on the rear of my 172 Cup. Is it easy enough to do? I've done them on a Focus before with no hassle. Anybody got a guide on doing it?

Also, anything I need to watch out for when buying the parts? I can get some mintex pads and discs cheap (£90 all in) so I'll probably go for them. Are the bearings part of the assembly, or am I imagining that?

Yeah bearings are part of the discs . You can either get them pressed out and pressed back into the new discs or buy discs with the bearings already in .

Heres a guide . You won't need the abs ring on your discs obviously with yours being a cup .The guide says a 30mm hub nut but thats on a mk2 ph1 , i think it might actually be a 32mm hub nut on the 172 cup .

Tbh mate i've never seen anybody who rates mintex stuff . Your probably better off with the standard discs and pads .Or you could try the ebc greenstuff pads , they produce hardly any brake dust and are pretty cheap .

non renault rear discs dont usually have the bearings already in, unless stated..

i would personally use the gen ones as they seem to last much longer on average.

std rear pads will suffice, they dont do that much really.

With the right tools, 1 hour max to change. Piece of pisces.

If they're seized on though, you'll need a hub puller...eh Darth/Cup/whatevercake?!

that sounds like it doesn't come with bearings = + £60 plus pressing in
