Rear lights problem, wrong bulbs flashing on use

  Jap Box
Problem as above,

Does anyone know what bulbs need to be swapped over for the LED rear ones in the PH1 clios

Here is a video of what they do currently:

As can be seen, indicator does the top brake light very dim, and the two reverse/fog lights???

Hazards do the top brake light fully and nothing else

Headlight beam does as it should

Brake light works the two reverse/fog lights or whatever they are (not in video)

Help would be appreciated, I know their not to everyones taste but I think they look better than the standard PH1 rears.

Thanks

Take the light off the car, and remove the connection, look in there for rust, i guarantee thats the problem, mine used to go like christmas lights and sorted it with filing the rust off the connection pins, lasted about 4weeks but in the end bough 2nd hand bulb holders,

No rust on the connections, all clean.

Plus its flashing the top brake light so it must be something to do with the wiring thats causing it to go mad.

I think they plug and play fine with PH2 but the PH1 has the bulbs in different locations so something might have to be changed around.

No rust atall? not even on the bulb holder? :s

did you have to wire a new connection to fit the led lights?

them lights were designed for a ph2, you have put them on a ph1 so you have to alter the wires around. theres a guide on here somewhere.

Sounds like theres a dodgy earth somewhere. Also have you just fitted them? if so have the connections been swapped?

EDIT: what hutchie says.

It said for 98-05 straight swap, obviously not :(

Is it just the PH1 to PH2 rear light guide I have to follow?

Yeah just fitted, no connections altered as I wasnt sure what was needed to be done, is it the same as the PH1 to PH2 guide?

Yeah Ph1 - Ph2 guide is the one you want :)
A thin flat blade screwdriver is helpful.

Ahh good :) thought that would have only been for the standard lights.

Also, theres 2 bulb holders in the middle of them, as seen inthe video the bottom one lights up white, then the holder above that has no bulb in there. I assume thats for an indicator bulb? Will I need a PH2 set of rear ones with orange bulbs to fit in there, as ones without the colour will simply flash white.

Ok, got this all done but heres the new problem:

Right hand side sidelight/headlight LED's won't light up properly. They are on but very very dimly, tried fiddling about with wires, ground etc and cant see anything wrong :(

All of the other lights work perfectly apart from the sidelights on the right cluster.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Also upon turning the ignition on, the electrical problem light flashes up and goes after about 5seconds, I think that the light anyway, its a box with 2 wavey lines through it

Ok, sorry for the triple post, re-wired back to PH1 style and now the light is still on the dash, the left side brake light isnt lighting up, everything else is working as it should do.

Is it worth just taking it to a garage ti get looked at?

  Jap Box
The garage is specifically a modified car garage, so maybe they can help with it more?

Ive looked at it all and cant find any problems, cleaned down the connectors, fiddled with the wires and nothings fixed it.

Also with the LED ones, the sidelight and brakelight were working as the same one, the one at the top, when I think the brake light should be working at the bottom.

Again, no idea why this is happening :S

The warning light is still up on the dash, ive fiddled with bulbs, wires, connectors and the left brake light still wont work :(

Yeah, trying to find their contact number now to give them a ring.

Seems like its a problem with the wiring from the car though as the standard ones are messed up now.

Hopefully someone can help later, ive got all these bits waiting to go on the car but its been a pain in the ass for all of them!

Ok, got them working correctly, however the right clusters LED section is still not lighting up bright enough.

Could this be down to a bad grounding? I think im best of sending them back to the seller really.
