Rear mounted turbo

You'd be surprised I think. Julian @ Balance Motorsport has done this to a few motors, by all accounts no more lag than usual.
 
It's an interesting concept.
You need a very well sealed exhaust and you have to accept it will run hotter the whole length.
The plus side is that EBP in the manifold during exhaust pulses is a lot lower due to the increased volume before the turbo.
 
Been discussed on the merc forum, massive amount of steam when it's raining from hot turbo, electric oil pump feeding turbo which has a warning light when it fails? But apparently it's to late by then, also mega lag.

oh and it looks like a proper abortion of a job.
 
We had a yank with a Dodge Charger SRT with twin rear mounted turbos. It wasn't slow, around 700bhp
