Rear pad / discs

Over the years has anyone found one manufacturer better than any other for rear discs?

Due to their low braking adhesion they rust and mine now have gone to the stage they need replacing but at £300 I am wondering whats the best solution?

I have no records of the last set that went on mine.

SNR/Genuine Renault are the best rear discs

Even on a 172 cup your brakes shouldn't go rusty because of the compensation/bias. I'd be checking your sliders aren't siezed, they should at the very least keep the discs clean with regular use

Or you could buy the Motrio rear discs and pads which are still genuine Renault.
Used and suppled for cars that are 10+ years old.

I've just went for Brembo. £60 a disk with bearings, and £18 for pads. With delivery it was less that £150.

The availability on genuine brakes from Renault right now is pants, my Mrs had genuine discs and pads for her 2021 Clio on order for 2 months before cancelling - unreal!

In the past, the problem with those has been that the bearings are usually cheap s**t that don't last at all and was cheaper in the long run to just buy genuine Renault items, just not sure if the same logic can be applied now that Renault items are even more expensive

Need to be careful with those if you've got ABS, fcuk knows why Renault did it but the ABS rings are different on the lower spec models so the discs themselves have different part numbers despite the disc & bearing being the exact same part on all models

Following on from what's been discussed above.

A friend is needing rear discs and pads, and was shocked when I seen the genuine parts prices, so attempting to find a cheaper alternative..

I've tried to price up discs without bearings and SNR bearings today.

Turns out it's only EBC that sell them without bearings and SNR are avaliable separately but even these paired together is coming out at close on £200 trade.

Do these definitely come with the abs ring?

I know AUTODOC is a bit hit and miss. But I think I need rear discs and I can’t find any oems in stock that aren’t mental money

I just got some Delphi ones from GSF for £67 a side. Not sure if that's good or bad, but they look ok.

I’d read that the bearings in some (not to say the ones you’ve got) don’t last. And that Brembo has the same bearing as OEM?

Not sure how true this is though.

I’m replacing my rear calipers so am just biting the bullet and doing everything 🥴

I've read this too. I spent ages looking for some decent ones but just bit the bullet with these. Time will tell I guess
I had a pagid one fail on me back in 2021, only two years old. Might be luck of the draw perhaps.

I had a pagid one fail on me back in 2021, only two years olds. Might be luck of the draw perhaps.

As long as it has the SNR bearing you are will be fine, Renault have used SNR bearings for years on there cars and come standard from factory stamped with SNR
