Rear passenger brake sticking on :(

Gone through a set of rear pads on the passenger side in less than 12k! Only noticed cos they started crinding as they are down to the metal!

Drivers side set where fine, looked hardly used.

Common issue?

Whats the fix, new caliper?

Strip them and clean the sliders up first, check the handbrakes not causing it to bind, if that doesnt solve it its a new caliper. The first option generally solves it though

Checked the handbrake cable isn't seized?

I've replaced the pads, I wired brushed what holds the pads in, and that little slider thing, but it's still doing it, wheel/disc it hot to touch when other side is fine.

Pretty sure the handbrake cable was fine, i'll recheck that though.

not the parts where the pads sit the actual sliders themselves on the caliper, if you unbolt the caliper from the car you'l see what i mean!

oh the sliders that it slides on lol? they move fine, the caliper was super hard to wind back in compared to the other side.

Aye lol, might be worth checking if the pistons dust seals seen better days and allowed some dirt to get onto the piston then you could try a bit of red rubber grease and see if it gets any better, it may do a bit but i think you'l be requiring a caliper in the future, id rebuild it if i could as i'm a tight c**t haha

Various peugeots, citroens and other renaults use the same caliper so shop around for one if you decide to change it, just make sure the pistons the same size as it can vary!
