Rear Wheel Bearings

  197
I just bought new discs and bearings for the rear of my 172 Cup.
Have opened up the bearings and just want to check which way they go in.

At the moment the bearings have what appears to be a protective plastic ring on one side of them, which is protecting a protruding rubber seal on the bearing.

I believe that this face is the inwards side. This is shown in the pictures below, first with the plastic protective cover in place, and then without.

The other side of the bearing is flat, and I think should be the outwards face. This is shown below.

Could someone just confirm I am correct before I press the bearings in?
Cheers,

well im not sure mate as the discs i buy have the bearings in already, however when you take the discs and pads down to the garage to be pressed in they should be able to advise.

Im guessing you have had an answer by now or at least figured out which way they go!

But the "Flat" side points outwards as you thought. :)
