Rear window on scenic smashed???!!!

Car  Liquid Yellow 182 FF
Me and my Dad just noticed that on his 'new' style Scenic the rear window has just smashed, few bits on the road. It definitely hasn't been hit or anything as there are no other marks on the car and there isn't an impact mark in the way the screen has cracked, its just completely cracked?!! Would the cold do this? Its so random, we've been in all day so no-ones touched it.

When I worked at renault, there were a couple of times people brought their scenics in with the same issue.

I'm not saying its common, but its not unheard of.

Last summer I had a similar thing on my old Peugeot, it turned out to be a stone from someone mowing the lawn nearby. I never found the offending stone but it completely shattered the window.

Last winter my wife was letting her car de ice on the drive.
BOOM, back window exploded.
Quiet common when you search.
Renault had never heard of it.
Yet meg sport forum seems common.

When I say new shape its of this variety so not the 'new, new' shape.

Its all fixed and sorted now, very bizarre though, its was late in the afternoon and are road is very quite and no-one was outside when it happened. Could be a number of things I guess.
