Recaro pole positions (and the like) with standard seat belts.

Is this something that can be done safely?

Or would I need to go the whole hog and get harnesses?

I bodged mine with standard belts, by using the rear belt holders. It worked but was not safe.

Its best to go for harnesses imo.

Fixed bucket with normal seatbelt is very dangerous. It gives no restraint over your hips so you submarine and in an accident you'd never walk again if you were lucky enough to live.

Hmmm, the discussions I have read on this forum suggest otherwise.

Surely if 'lap' part of the standard belt is fed through the side holes in the seat you would have the same hip/lap support as you would on a regular seat?

What about the v6 TT and M3's which had them as standard?

The s2000 boys use standard belts, they get seat belt buckles that you can bolt in to the car.

Unsure where you get them from.

There's buckets designed to be used with seatbelts, pole positions being one.

Speak to capital seating for an 'E' marked solution.

Love pole positions so much. As mentioned the come standard in quattro sports. Speak to luke/tomsx about them!

As above. You need the pole pos ABE's.

These are approved for use with standard belts. A la TT and GT3.
