Recent V6 Trackday - Article in Autosport

  Mk2 172 (Silver)

Just incase any of you that went along wanted to have a look.

Its over a double-page spread and although more of an advertisement for the car, theres some great photos and it names a few people that attended on the day (although didnt recognise any of them).

Cool! A few people from here, myself included (yozza too I think?) were there. They did mention on the day that wed receive a copy of the article and a CD with all the photos from the day....

JJ, were you there?

why didnt you come and say hello?

I thought i was the only one from here who went?

and were you the one who I overtook and then the lap later parked is in the grass outbraking myself? :)

What did you think of the cup then? shes a flyer isnt she?

Nice one Jeremy! Is the CD of the photos with it?

yoz2a - I posted a msg about the day and asked if anyone was going but didnt see any takers so assumed I was the only one from here! It was only when I saw your pics I realised!

You did indeed overtake on the straight (I let ya past!) and yes, then spun off from the long straight into the grass - very entertaining!! The Cup was certainly quick...what have you had done?

JJ - you let him pass, and then he spun off - excellent !

hence the reason for the braided lines... chronic brake fade...

it was one of those "oh fook" moments... just hammered the throttle as the back end went...

It was my only trip into the cross country route and considering the beans I was giving it, I wasnt overly suprised, and as soon as I got a hold of it on the grass I was straight back out...

:)

Ill second that as I was right behind him! I pulled over and he came flying past, then launched it into the corner and pirouetted off. I did try to hold up score cards but he was back on the track and off like a shot!! ;)

Nutta alert for sure!!

y0z2a - Im running CarbonMetallic pads from PerformanceFriction which are stunning. No fade whatsoever and I stayed out on one session for 20+ mins and the West circuit is very hard on brakes. Forget braided lines, get yourself some of these pads!

I have them already :) and grooved (euro clio cup race) disks... I was out there for about an hour and a half... might have been the reason why they faded...

I do need braided lines and . 4.1 or .5 fluid... I wasnt getting pad fade, it was pedal/fluid fade.

Ahh, that might explain it then!! Awesome pads tho and Ive not had them fade on me yet. Mind you, I did get the STOP/brake warning light flickering on at Bedford for some reason, and the pads werent worn....any ideas?

its just something that happens on tight & fast corners in clios (in my old one it was when you cocked a wheel.

i get it all the time on the track, I wouldnt worry...
