As the title says i would like everyone to help me to spend my money (as it is christmas.) Im after some polish and wax for my black gold 182. Not stupidly expensive but not cheap crap either.

And any other tips would be greatly appreciatePlus any ideas how to get rid of swirl marks???

Sonus polish is really good, even worked by hand can deliver good results I've found.
As for wax I havent tried a great deal on mine, got megs mirror glaze at the moment which is fairly cheap and looks good on mine, has lasted ages aswell, waxed it in the summer and it still beads up the water nicely.

Dodo juice, R222 waxes are pretty good for the money imo, or if your want to spend a little more Swiss wax Best of show is good stuff.

Your car sounds like it needs a PC polishing, to get rid of the swirl marks.

Super Resin Polish by Auto Glym will fill in some of the tiny swirls and make it look more presentable, If you spend a bit of time with it.

Might be an idea, Like said above to get your car machine polished.

Spend some money on i4detailing or clean your car if you want good producs.

As for wax. Ive heard Dodo is good, Im using Poorboys Nattys Blue on my black clio, And like the results.. Ive yet to try any others

Chemical Guy's ! ! !

Get some Wet Mirror Finish as polish, (well, light polish !)
Get some Jetseal 109 as a sealant,

And maybe some High Definition wax from Autoglym... and there you are !

I would go Autoglym Super Resin Polish if ur hand polishing, then top off with some Victoria Concours Wax!

Or if ur lazy like me at this time of year u just slap on some Dodo Juice Need For Speed (an all in one)

Depends what ur budget is

What waxes would everyone recommend. Dodo juice purple haze, Blue velvet? or just the dodo juice supernatural in the wooden pot? Bearing in mind that my car is black gold??

IMO after a good polish, a wax with add relativly little to appearance, you want to be getting it machine polished

The key to Black as with any colour is in the prep - polishing will make much more difference than any wax or sealant. I would look into getting a decent polished finish first. The wax is just the final few percent in overall looks.

Black Gold is a mare by hand - Mennzerna Polishes by machine and then some nice wax like Onyx for me.

By hand - Carlack Hand Polishes and nice oily Glaze such as Clearkote Vanilla Moose or Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze and then the Onyx.

Car is looking great there Pete.

Great advice! Too many people get caught up on buying loads of different waxes and then don't spend enough time polishing.

The carlack polish is pretty good; I've got the #7 and clearkote and I prefer the clearkote myself.

The #7 comes into it's own when you want to use it between layers of wax, other wise I would reach for the CVM.

Vics looks nicer IMO, it is up there with expensive high end waxes in the look it adds to the paint.
