Recommendations for 37"/42" TV

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Guys,

Getting a new place and I'd like to spend as little as possible on getting a TV of the above sizes - HOWEVER I don't want to go with a cheapy and I want a decent resolution - I was looking for advice on proper 1080p LCDs (McBunny is good here I know this!) however I'd want at least 10000:1 CR and possibly 15000:1 if there's any for good money, or alternatively a recommendation of a good Plasma with a widescreen resolution panel (not out-of-square 1024x768, as I'll be running a computer to it and this just makes things a lot easier for me)

It doesn't need HDMI as long as it has either D-Sub or DVI in, however it would be nice, and it needs Component for my 360.

Cheers all for your help - and while I appreciate suggestions, please can we keep 'pub experts' to a minimum as I've gotta get this right first time! As I WILL need to live with it for a few years!

I'd go for the Pioneer. I got the last version of it. Pioneer PDP43XDE which was the best version and it was reviewed in the What Plasma to buy as the Queen of Plasma Tv's. The king was the 50" version lol. The new ones are even better

Panny th37px70ped is what i have can't fault it.

£848 from JL with 5 yr warranty.

42 or 50 are good just didnt need one that big as 37 is big enough in our lounge.

You need a plasma then to answer your own question??

To say I'm happy with my 42" would be an understatement. It makes my old Samsung LCD look pathetic.

I was quite tempted by the new Samsung LCDs but in the end went for the current daddy of the plasma range.

^^ peel that sticker off, it looks gash ;)

Good choice for those who know there tv's ;)

We've just spent £1578 on a Sony 40" LCD from John Lewis. Supposedly an award winner in What Hifi (so the other half tells me), only had it a week but so far I'm impressed.
