refitting shifter...torque settings?

Just refitting a Yanoo'd shifter...but have found if I do the lower connector ball thing up to tight its almost impossible to move...the instructions say use thread lock but not how tight it should be...let me know if that makes n sense and I'll post photos

Post a photo but I'm sure you are talking of the lower pivot point where Yanoo sometimes supplies brass bushes, If that's the case then they need filed down a little to be slightly smaller than the shoulder on the gear linkage bar.

That is spot on

Only thing is it has been fitted to a phase 1...do you know if the shoulder is a different size on the later cars?

Edit to say I have the brass bushes...

There are 3 different arrangements throughout the 1*2 range iirc but the same should apply, if you could post a pic and I could advise better but I know I had to file mine down. It does say in the Yanoo guide although its a little confusing.

what kit is it youve fitted? they do become easier to move after a few changes

As soon as I inspected it I could see the issue; sitting well proud of the shoulder...filed it down until it fitted and its now spot on.

I'm sure it will get easier too...
