Refurbing Brembo 4 Pots (pics)

  TrackCar & F30 330d
I have just been given a set of these Brembo 4 Pots, Apprently they have rust on the other side of the pistons so they could not fully retract and the pad was allways on the disk.

I'm thinking that i may use this as my final year project at uni to get them to fit on my 182, lol.
They will probebely not fit. i havnt even checked yet.

My question is can i get them refurbished?

Cheers

oooops didnt mean to post that, yeah i wasnt sure if you could do that, does anyone know where i could get it done, and a rough cost?
The aston garage said they were rusted, so me old man had to get some new ones, so i said if they are nackered then i'l have the old ones. :)

  Turbos.
Would phone up your local Aston dealer and give them the part number for the brakes and see if there is a service/refurbishment kit, or if there if a Brembo UK to do the same. I'm sure that caliper is used on many cars, so i would find the cheapest, naturally Aston won't be!

Nice freebie!

f**k me sideways, why not stick the ones he gave you on ebay then buy some ones ready to bolt straight onto your clio ;)

Oooooo that is quite tempting, I'l like some bucket seats too, may buy them if i sell the 4 pots.
But for now i'l keep them, when i fit my H&R's this week i'l see if the Aston brakes fit in my wheel. lol

I'm pretty sure the brakes will not fit, now i'v had a little think about it.

The wheels on the Aston are 19"
The wheels on the clio are 16" (Also have 15" track wheels)

It was a nice thought but it looks like i'l just sell them, if i get a fairly good price then i may buy some 4 Pots that were actually made for the car.

Cheap:eek:

Looking at the picture mate, i think your right in saying they wont fit lol. You should be able to sell them and buy a set of ones made for the clio. Have you looked on ebay if there are any already on there and how much they are going for?

Lol the very first picture is deceving, they dont look that big on there own, but when you put them inside a wheel they look huge.
I'l have a look on Ebay, if i get over £500 i'd be happy.
:)

Those calipers look massive for only four pots (I see that they are four pot though)

If you get hold of set (also four pot brembo's) from a focus RS or a fiat coupe 20vt they possibly could be made to fit, the coupe ones fit under 16" wheels, but the clearance is minimal.

I don't mean to sound like a complete dork...

...but how can such an expensive car need a caliper changed, especially when there are cheap french cars that are 15 years old running on their original single piston sliders??

Looks impressive though. :)

I looked on ebay could only find DB6 calipers and they were like £600. Suppose they are harder to come by been an older car.
So i may just put them for sale for £900 and see if anyone wants them.

God knows mate.

It could have just been one of them things. Strange for it to "go wrong"
or
The aston martin garage thought "hmmmm we'l say they nackered, customer buys new ones and we recon the old ones and sell them on"

My dad said to the garage that i wanted them to make some sort of modern furniture lol.
