Refurbing PH1 Gearknob

Hi all,

Has anyone done this? What would be the best way of going about it?

Mine is rather tatty and it's annoying me slightly.

I was thinking of a sand down and paint but would want to get it as close to the original colour as possible.

Middo did it years back, just buffed it on a polishing wheel and it came out pretty good.

I've got a polished knob, (no paint) in my ph1.

I'm not feeling the polished look, looks too aftermarket to me, I'm after an OEM type finish.
