Relacing bulb tail light

Hi there guys, bulb has blown on the rear, brake lights still work. Bought a new bulb, pulled the carpet out, looks like i have to take the light out, managed to take the screws out but it wouldn't clip off on the top, had a feel inside, it feels like a clip, but dont wanna snap it. Can some verify i am correct or other further instructions.

Ok managed to do it, got a big problem. Tried 2 new bulbs still no joy.

Accidentally bumped my car yesterday, reversed into a rock, very small damage. Since then my rear tail light will not work on the passenger side (but brake lights do), the registration plate light is also not lit, reverse light, indicators and another which is probably the fogs work fine.

We've tried all sorts and are really confused. We have even tried the other side of the car (working) with separate bulbs and light cluster.

Is there any reason why this would happen? when the brake lights will work but the tail lights (double element) will not?

Have you tested the new bulbs in the drivers side holder? If the bulbs work in there, I can only assume that there's an issue with the connections in the holder, or the connecting wire.

Yes mate checked fuses and tried new bulbs in drivers side holder and all is as normal, i did think it might have a problem with earth but why would brake lights work and not sidelights (normal also). Dont get it.

You reckon it might be the holder?

(by the way the bulb had blown it was black misty and im pretty sure this happened after i bumped it)

hey guys still no joy, took it to renault and they wanted to charge me £49.99 just to look at it. Apparently there is a fuse box in the bonnet, could anyone tell me where it is please, all other fuses look fine.

Thanks, im guessing if the fuse in the bonnet is ok, it will be the wiring behind the rear bumper.

Was the bulb you bought duel element?

The fuses under the bonnet are to the right near the battery under a black cover.

Hey yes, bulb was dual element, even tried bulb from other side does not work.

Renault wanted to charge me £49.99 to look at it. (just for a fuse blown)

To be honest I think that is ridiculous seen as it is only something to do with a light, fair enough if its something serious. I will never be going back there when I have a problem.
