Release Bearing

My car has developed a squeaky noise when the car is running cold, when the clutch is pressed the noise goes away! This I have found out to be caused by the clutch release bearing.

Am I correct in saying that while this noise is present is the reason why the clutch judders only when pulling away? (no problem through the other gears, smooth as its always been - and only happens when engine is cold) And does this mean that the clutch is on its way out, or is it something far more simple and less expensive?

the judder could be caused by the clutch plate being worn and the noise will be the release bearing.sounds like it needs a clutch kit.
