remap with v-power in the tank

  Clio 172 Cup Mondial
why are you giving k-tec a miss i could not recommend them enough! anyone saying they are s**t are f**king ball bags you will get a much better map when its live! go to k-tec! rs tuner maps give very little gains! dan at 519 automotive works close with k-tec and sees similar results!
DO NOT LISTEN TO ASSHOLES ON HERE

Ive had no problems with KTEC or mates that ave used them. The way they work (i think) is that they put one of 3 maps on your car then tweak it about to gain the best from your engine. My car is running 194.3bhp with similar mods to you and slightly more. Some people are going to moan that mine wont make that power with them mods, but f**k them i have proof and would recommend KTEC all day everyday. The service from martin and the lads down there has been very good, im sure if you have any problems with them they will certainly help you out as they have a big reputation and wouldnt like to ruin it. :)
this! listen to the people that have used them not the people with there 160hp rs tuner mapped cars

nope just really annoyed me when someone slates a good company

I think what you have to remember is that many people are just putting across facts. Which with a service such as a remap is quite important.

It is well documented on here how their results compare to stand alone impartial rolling roads.

Calling them s**t etc. is probably out of order but when you buy a product/service you always research it do you not?

Personal experience and opinion tbh.. All I've seen is K-Tecs rollers read high.. Others don't really need to be said on here.

I think the only company over 12 months old on here I've never heard a bad word about is RSTuning, Just take it there. I drove a 500 mile round trip there 3/4 times now for Paul to work on my car.

Blokes the nicest bloke you'd ever meet, and he's a northerner.

I've dealt with K-Tecs "Mapping Guru" and was fucked over by him when was younger and knew little about 172's. Multiple things, this is why I'd never go any where near them.

Ahh yes the enlarged TB, must of been a GDI job then. Apparently my timing was out so paid for it be sorted, it probably was as we did the belt ourselves! Belt slipped very very very soon after this, he didn't want to know.

Also told me the car could only be on the base map (running omex for F4R Mk1 Clio) as he couldn't map it on the rolling road as the hub was bent and kept jumping off, which I later found out to not be any case at all, it wasn't bent anyway! I still had to pay for the mapping which wasn't one though or I didn't get my car back!

Was also told to not post anything on here about it, I was young an naive so didn't.

Yeah but if he had to pay out for hire of rollers and your car was bent as you've said he told you then why would he NOT charge you?? when it would be your fault for giving him a car that he couldn't physically map due to the car not wanting to stay on the rollers

genuine question btw, just curious

That would be enough to put me off ever going back to them. I had a similar experience with a Honda tuning company who have a great rep of tuning cars on their rollers and getting great results to match. I would never use them for my car but that's a story for another day lol

Oh and it wasn't bent as he found out after wards. So either way he's taking the piss

yes but at the time he didn't know it wasn't bent, so at that moment in time Andy wasn't in the wrong by still charging as said if he still had to pay the roller hire which is what i'm saying but you seemed to struggle to grasp that

tbh many people just need to move on and forget about the past as times change so do people, look how many people used 2 bang on about how great TDF was and now look they don't say nothing after the truth came out about just how SH*T they really are

  172
hmm well it was aimed more towards Danny anyways lol, if it did indeed go down as Danny said well then nope it's not on but only they shall ever really know the truth

I believe you to be a total f**king clownshoe.

It was bent which means it wasn't jumping out of the rollers. I'm almost certain it was never even put on any rollers to even begin mapping.

He has rollers there so why would I of been charged for rolling road time. I'm sure something like that would of raised its head very quickly on the first run!

You can forget about the past yes, but TDF have now stopped on here. Andy is still on the path and badly mapping cars still so its not really the past as he's never stopped.

Also head over to RTOC and see what they think of him ;)

Just a little update, got the car remapped today and quite honestly can't tell the difference don't see what all the fuss is about around rempps.

Guys are top blokes did a fantastic job will be using them from now on and i do recommend them, as for the remap the only thing i have noticed is the exhaust isn't as loud and raspy but has a deeper quieter note which i like. Haven't notice any difference in low end torque that a remap is supposed to help with, cold start i will find out tomorrow if it has helped but overall disappointed.

I was never expecting much but not for it to feel the same as before the remap.

My opinion is don't bother getting a remap unless your getting cams or other major tuning parts.

This. Or just get an RS-Tuner because you can.

I certainly wouldn't be getting it live mapped if it was a standard engine.

Where did you take it, what before and after power did it make?

Does it drive smoother, better etc? I would and have previously gone down the rs tuner map route, quite a big difference in cost. Like you say unless doing bigger stuff youre not going to notice a (warrant the cost change imo).

I was talked out of a custom map in the end so i paid considerably less and i still can't help but think it was a waste of money.

I haven't notice anything different in terms of driving, the only thing to have changed is the exhaust note oddly enough. I did do quite a bit of research before considering a remap and nearly everyone said it was worth the money... must of been the placebo effect because i haven't felt anything different what so ever.

WMW in Staines brilliant customer service good pricing too. Taking my car to them for braided lines to be fitted when they turn up, should of been today annoyingly.
