ooo currently getting a concept 650 with intellistart fitted as i type...the clio's outside with half its dashboard hanging off.....yes it's gimmicky but figured as insurance companies don't like me having mods i might as well do what i can :clown:

churchill at the moment....insurance up for renewal on friday...so may be a potential problem there :S lol but guess we'l jump that hurdle when we get to it...

Some insurance companies frown on things like intellistarts . Go for a company who actually know what the mod is all about .

Adrian Flux are pretty clued up on mods .

MRBILLY......yea tried adrian flux....but as i'm young they wan't over £2000 with 1years NCB, whereas people like RAC only ask 1k but without mods....as im not the one paying the entirity of my insurace i guess its not up to me...just guess its going to be a little more expensive with a better alarm fitted.....strange eh..

when you have this fitted dont they break the spare key and hide the transistor in the car to disable the renault immobiliser? I dont think the insurance company will be too pleased at the car key being in the car?!?!

no thats with the non insurance approved remote starts....i have had to have an immobiliser by-pass from the original renault immobiliser, but with this the concept 650 has a built in tandem immobiliser circuit...so no no key in the ignition

intellistart is awesome....
i had it on my zr with the clifford/avital alarm.
great on winter mornings.set the heaters the night before and away you go.mine had a 12min cycle on it. and when the engine is running the car is completely safe has all the doors are locked as normal and on mine if you were in the car whilst in intellistart as soon as you touch the break the engine cuts out

Same principle as the avantguard from Clifford that I had on the RS Turbo then. (But they wouldnt give me a discount for it being a cat 1 alarm then as it was fully approved or something. I got it the following year though!)

I was pretty certain they had to use your spare key on the concept 650 !!

Otherwise they cant overide the Renault Imob ???

right...just bin out for a spin and a show off to my mates....and yes im chuffed with it get a few funny stares in busy places i can tell u!
takes a while to get used to the remote and i'd forgotten how the bloke had told me it works within a minute of him leaving but a quick read of the handbook and was all sorted....for those who are interested, i got mine from www.specialistsecurity.net, booked a time for the guy to come, and he was half an hour early so can't moan there....didn't get a name but the guy who fitted it was a nice bloke, 2 1/2 hour job and all works a treat.....
From ringing around it was a lot cheaper than Gapsecurity who i know a lot of people use....and i didn't get the usual salesman spiel when i rang them up...
must say i'd recommend the alarm and the company if anyones thinking of one....
