Remoulds - opinions

  Breaking mk2 DCI
Same as any new tyre tbh. No one's willing to take achance. I've just put 4 new hankook's on. Did very well in a german tyre test, dirt cheap (£50 a corner in 205/45 16) but because they're unknown people seem to think I'm mad!

hankook are huge! dads mates been a distributor in the towns biggest tyre retailer selling them for ages, still im not convinced,

toyo FTW

Will not be having Toyo's again. T1r's are good in the dry. Crap in the wet, and wear quickly. Px4's are woeful. Here's the mentioned test, good showing from toyo:dead:

^ lol, i have 4 x toyo's on the cup, and honestly, it tries to get me out in the wet regulary!!!

Fred, regarding the original question, wouldnt really bother me!

We take all our old tyres to kingpin (have to pay to dispose of them) They inspect them all, good ones with 2mm or so tread are sent abroad to be re - used.

Damaged carcasses (sp) are chopped up and made into rubber mats / bits etc.

The good carcasses with no tread are remoulded.

My dad runs them on his van, partly because he is a cheapskate, 195/50/15's are about £12 trade.

It only does about 60MPH though, lol! no problems yet!

People don't realise it, but the market is flooded with false tyres, that are usually cheap copies / remoulds made to look like something else!

Getting big business! There is a bloke not far from here who sells tyres so cheap, he sells them for less than we can buy them! They must be nicked / copies.

i'm testing them at the moment, it'll take a while as i have 3 sets on 3 different cars and want to abuse them to see how they go

  Better than yours. C*nt.
All that sits in my mind is the number of incidents of a truck tyre delaminating, blowing out and the subsequent chaos as a tyre tread launches through some poor woman's windscreen. Not to mention the damage it would cause to the vehicle!

Michelin have an ass big enough to take to court if their tyres delaminate or explode randomly, Mr. Yamyam or Mr. Brummay doesn't.

Dunlop do a lot of remould for the RAF for ages, when we get them back in after they have been on a jet there is no difference compared to the brand new ones that are worn to limits.

I would give them a go, looking forward to the results Fred.

From my own experience I can say that they go out of shape and tend to blow out more. That video shows you why they go out of shape, you see he cut a hole through the wires and then put a patch over it. When the wires go loose the patch flexes and the tyre doesnt stay in shape. Stay away!
