Remove carpet at front?

I've stripped the back (capet and seats) from my mk1. Is it a good idea to remove the carpet from the front too? What are the advantages / disadvantages? Is the front spray painted as comprehensibly as the back? Can you still use plastic (fake metal) mats or would they slide around?!

I'm not so worried about the weight. I just wondered if it might look more sporty / rally with the front stripped too. But I didn't want to strip to find ugly surprises / areas that haven't been painted / mats & braking foot sliding all over the place.

I have no carpet at the front just got some carbon fibre sheet cut to the right shape, stuck on with velcro to the car and with strips of anti slip tape on the top so your feet dont slip when its wet...

you will find wires and other stuff..find somewhere to hide them thats a problem gone....buy a rattle can of your car colour from halfords n just spray...dont bother with primer lol....i did it in the back of my mk1 and looks alright....
not too sure how quickly it would take to start to flake off in the front though. could always put laquer on for good measure lol hell you could even to a half decent job of it if u wanted n use primer to

taking the front carpet out in a daily driver is taking sripping too far IMO. yes in a track/rally car but not in a daily driver...
