Remove Resonator Box

Hello,
Has anyone took the Resonator Box on the air intake out? My air intake pipe is broke so rather than buying a new one thought to upgrade the air filter and just putting a pipe from the air box to the front of the car?

Yeah it's been done plenty inc by me years ago, just a little more noise, no issues at all.

Any idea what size pipe you used on the end of the air box as its a strange shape? If you could post a pic that would be great

I pikied it up as it was just a winter car! So it had a bit of a gap, still it gave it a bit more of an induction noise!

When you remove that resonator box you get lots of induction noise, but i found just removing it felt abit like a loss of power, probably due to hot air being sucked in if there was actually a loss could be placebo. So I bought a K&N 57i gen2 and its great

You could also remove the air box attached to the throttle body and build yourself an induction pipe from the throttle body using silicone hose and piping with a filter on the end.
