Removing a rusted bolt?

  Clio 1.5dci
The heat guard over the exhaust is rattling, one of the washers has made a washer size hole in it so it no longer holds it in place.

After shredding my hand up at the weekend trying to get the nut off to add a larger washer, does anyone have the best solution to remove a rusted bolt?

thanks

You've got a few options.

First WD40 and wire brush. Then try the socket again..

Next, heat with a blowtorch. Might work.

Last, angle grinder. Nothing argues.

How could i forget WD40 :) if that doesn't work maybe I can just use sticky tape on the heat guard ;)

thanks

it's in a real difficult to do anything spot. I got as far as I could with the wrench, and ran out of room where I hit the exhaust part.

So I'm having to use a small spanner make 30 degree turns at a time :(

So I may not be able to do much with a hammer in the tight space.

But it sounds like a good excuse to buy a flam.. ermm blow torch.

ask an exhaust/tyre center to have a look for a few quid....

they have everything (heat, air tools, etc etc)

plus it doesnt mash up your hands
