Removing front swivel hub....

On a 1.2 Clio (2003), any tips on how to free the hub nut whilst stopping the rotor spinning?

Caliper is already removed, as is the brake disc. Is this the only way?

stick a wheel on the hub and lower it onto the wheel? loosed to finger tight then jack back up?


or

screw 2 wheel bolts into the hub with a bar going through them you turn the hubnut whilst someone holds the bar stopping the hub rotating

You should crack the hub nuts off with the car on the ground first really.

Stick some wheel nuts in, big bar inbetween wegded against something like the ground, impact gun on the nut! Done.

Cheers for the advice, got it done in the end. Put the wheel back on and dropped it to the ground, loosened the nut then jacked it back up.
