Removing rear Renault 'diamond'

the one that's in the boot lock on a Mk2 Ph2, how do I detach the diamond? I'm wanting to remove it for spraying but don't wanna break anything

Looking at the Haynes manual, you remove the inside trim from the back of the boot lid and go at it from there.

Indeed, a screwdriver doesn't work according to the local theives. (They tested it on my car).

complete guess but its gonna be tailgate trim off, unclip bar then 2/3 8 mil or 10 mil nuts
