Removing seats and fitting new ones

  Radical SR3
Didn't quite get round to it at the weekend, can someone tell me how the seats are removed from a 172 Cup? also I have a set of OMP base mount recliners in the garage and wanted to drop them in the car...anyone got OMP's? do you need a specific mount (I want to keep the sliding function)

Any help appreciated

Jack the car up (on a trolley jack not the s**t one in the boot - you will die)

There are these circular rubber discs, two near the side of the car and two in the heatshield, pop them off and you will need a deep 13mm socket, undo and voila.

Make sure you have left the car standing for quite a while because chances are you will touch the exhaust.

Thankyou for that,

I stumbled upon a great Recaro seat fitting guide earlier today that included your comment. I want to remove a seat and measure up to see if the stock seat rail will fit the seats without any additional parts. I modified seatrails on a track car in the past.

You can actually remove the seats without getting under the car (not the runners though)

Take off the bottom covers and it'll be fairly obvious.

They're a little bit awkwardly placed, and iirc they're big alen keys, but it's nothing too difficult.

(It's how I ended up putting sport seats in my non sport)
