Removing steering wheel

  172 Cup, AX trackbeast.
Like a lot of you, I suffer from the 'Renault-we-can't-be-arsed-to-make-out-steering-wheels-out-of-decent-leather syndrome' and I'm looking to whip the wheel out of my 172 Cup and replace it with a non-airbag aftermarket jobby. Is there a certain sequence that must be acknowledged for removing the wheel (Eg, unplug battery for at least 15 minutes prior, etc)? Also, does the airbag itself come out easily? I've had a quick gander and it only appears to be clicked into place.

Any help appreciated.

  Dodgy one
Yep unplug battery, pop clips off the back of the wheel, pull airbag towards you been careful of the wires behind undo them and its (i think, did it a while ago now) a T40 torx to get the wheel off
