Be very carful. I would be against petrol.

A lot of soapy water and elbow grease is your best bet.

Try using a hair dryer on it frist to heat up the glue and make it tacky again. Then try soapy water.

if its on the paint work i wouldnt use petrol, might cause some damage..not sure.

I use petrol everywhere else though, ie plastic and windows.

When i bought my car in 01 They dealer put some stupid GT stickers on the side of each door and on the back. It was a red and white flag and GT in the middle, 3 of the f**kers!!!!!1

Then after much mockings of my m8s, I tried to get them off, took my over an hour to get them all off and I used a hair dryer to try and heat it up but it kept coming off in parts and leaving a mess.

But hot saopy water will help getting rid of anything left behind, I also used it to remove the Renault garage stickers in the back window!

got a bottle of sticky stuff remover (thats what its called) from Betterwear, used to remove a sticker on mine, no damage to the paintwork..

Try panel wipe. Body shops use it to clean surfaces before spraying. Not very expensive for 5 litres(£10 ?). Remember to give it a polish afterwards as it will remove the existing wax

3m make something call adhesive cleaner comes in a metal tin 08984 part number on it, its spot on we use it after removing boot badges at work (i work at a bmw main dealer)
