Removing the bottom half of the dash

I know this has probably been covered loads of time before but i need to know the exact process to remove the bottom half of the dashboard as the previous owner had a dvd player fitted and has put acres of cabling at the back of the dash that needs to be removed. Please can someone put a step by step guide to removing this for me.
