Removing track rod end

Trying to change a track rod end on a 182, managed to get the nut from the hub off but there is no way the nut on the track rod is coming off, tried soaking it, tried a heat gun (all we have) to help. Got spanners, hammers, mole grips and it's not shifting.

Although we have applied heat do you think it could be hotter. I imagine based on my 1200w heat gun that something like http://m.screwfix.com/description.htm?id=64845 wouldn't do much help?

Oxyacetylene mate you need it cherry red if its that tuff or maybe try some big stilsons or if ya handy with a grinder put a slit down the nut to relief it but just be careful not to damage drumstick threads

Just as the first reply came in we'd attacked it with a grinder ever so nice and it came off.

Off to get a new nut and the local place didnt have one in, on the off chance we thought we'd call into Halfords Auto and a guy there has a 172 and had a spare nut he gave us !

Top guy, think he's on here or at least mates with someone on here as he was at the last meet.

All sorted and put back on, sorted.
