Renault 5 Dials in Clio

Car  500bhp Scoob

Am doing an engine conversion at the moment, Not a GTT conversion...

but the gearbox sensor is electronic, this is why i need to use a set of GTT dials.

Just wondering if they fit straight in, and sit right.

Will i need to do any extra wiring to get other things to work.

If anyones got a pic of the dials in a clio, thatd help alot :D

Cheers

They may be able to, just depends on the plugs at the back if they fit or not. R5 dials are very similer to Clio dials

not too worried about the wiring side of it, just means getting the trusty soldering iron and crimper out.

althou it would be nice if they just fit straight onto the connectors :D

you sure the GTT dials will be receiving the right signals off the sensor your using

they are VERY sensitive to receiving the wrong thing, ive blown 3 speedos

been reading up on electronic speedo sensors, and there is a standard for the signals.

only one way to find out lol

I think they look sh*te IMO, What you doing a Vovlo turbo conversion, they use the elctronic speedo right? You can use half a clio gearbox to change to mechanical speedo I think.

yea going the volvo route, i would use a diff box altogether, like a 16v/willy box, but thats more money, and im trying to keep costs down.

Dials are pretty cheap, and aslong as they show the speed, then im happy :) atleast with the electronic sensor, i can develop a digital solution in the end

bump :)

anyone know if ill need to re-wire my connectors, or modify R5 dials if i put them in my clio?

I would just get some then plug them in then find out what happens ;)

I would, but i wouldnt wanna start blowing the components on the dials themselves, its not as if they are that freely available anymore, also am on a tight budget.

Ill get a circuit diagram of the R5 dials to be sure
