Have been on here for a couple of months now, So I thought I might get my project copied over as there seems to be some quite knowledgeable people over here the should be able to help me out along the way.
Started on. 17/03/2011 but trying to shorten it down a bit. If people could hold out replying until I have it all copied over
Bought this back in July 2010 with the Idea off just using It for the shell. It had a full re spray a couple of years back and both sills replaced recently, So was a good base to start on.
Then I was away in Canada for a month so nothing happened to it for a while.
While I was in Canada I decided I was going to sell my other Black Renault 5 GT Turbo and focus more on this one.
So 6 months later I finally sold it last week.
With it's new owner.
I hadn't really touched the grey since I bought it and it just sat on my drive looking like this for months.
My plans where to fit a 180-200bhp Renault 5 GT Turbo engine that I had and turn into a reliable track car. That then went out of the window when I was offered a complete F7P Turbo converted Renault 5 GT Turbo. It had only done about 1200 miles since the re build and had receipts adding up too thousands, so I bought it !
One on the way back from picking it up, notice the extra ramps I had to put on under the car as it was so low to getting on the truck.
The engine
Over the last 6 months I have been collecting some parts though, also cleaning up some others bits that I already had.
Safety Devices 6 point roll cage
Sabelt 6 point harness and seat
Willwood 4 pots
Carbon fibre bonnet
15" Oz super turismo wheels
Poly bushed sub frame with new ball joints and track rod ends.
New wish bones
Starting work on the good grey one
Day one - Interior out
Day two - Engine bay
Day three - Got In the garage now and I managed to remove most of the seam sealer.
Day four - Carried on with the interior, Dash, loom and heater out.
Some help from Daisy.
So that's it so far, I've missed loads of bit's out like the 4 hours I spent scraping sound deading off one night, other panels, side skirts but all of those pictures are on my camera, as you can see these one are just the s**t ones of my iPhone.
I have got so many plans for the car In the future, but I'm holding back on alot as I really want it ready for the RTOC track day at Mallory Park in June
Sorry about the poor grammer and s**t spelling, but It's late and I've had enough , will do my best to keep this updated. enjoy Lewis
