Renault DCI cars, Anyone running a tuning chip box ?

Does anyone have a renault Diesel and Running a diesel chip box ?

Do they actually work and give you alittle more power and MPG ?

Let me know what your expreriances are on these ?

Also there a wide range and price difference, are they all the same ?

Theres a thread on them in other marques.

General concensus (sp) is that they are bad for the car long term.

ahh rite, is it that they just advance the timing and fuel mixture ?

I thought the price of them there likely to be rubbish.

I remember my mate buying a capacitor of ebay claiming extra power and he phoned me saying his car was stuck reving !

they only increase fuel pressure, which is not really needed, its a silly way of getting more, slightly more power.

a remap increasing boost pressure, fueling to suit and a slight increase in fuel pressure will do the trick lovely.

tuning boxes end up killing high pressure fuel pumps costing easlily over £1k to sort properly!

I may look at a re-map or i may just leave it slow & s**t :rasp:

I havent bought the car yet its a meganne 120 dci.

i want good MPG anyway
