Renault Dealers!!!

Afternoon all,

Have been phoning around today to get the 36k service done on my 172 cup and am baffled as to how poor the service\knowledge of renault garages is. I know that people have always said that the customer service is poor but this is the first time i have really experienced it myself as my first two services were reasonable priced. The people i spoke to at the garages didnt have a clue what they were talking about, comments included, its expensive cos its a major service, spark plugs need changing, aux belt is needed, isnt needed... you would think they would all be sent the same info from headoffice!!!

Below are the quotes i received, £300 difference between cheapest\most expensive absolute joke!!

Banbury - £345 - Without Aux belt
£510 - With Aux belt
Hemel Hempstead - £390 - No aux belt (when i asked why so much he told me its because the need to change spark plugs and stuff!!)
Peterborough - £217 - Aux belt not needed
Oxford Kidlington - £229 - Aux belt not needed
Milton Keynes - £397 - No aux belt
Northampton - £365 - No aux belt

I am going to give Renault customer service a call tomomrow to have a moan, does anyone have the number?

RUK wont even know what needs doing.

Seriously, while my 182Cup is the best drivers car Ive ever owned, the knowloedge from the dealers and RUK has been nothing short of shocking.

Mate, they know bugger all!!

Another indication of their lack of competence is that all the early Megane 225s had their service intervals set to 18,000 miles. Then it was realised that they needed servicing every 12,000 so they wanted all of the trip comuters reset to show that?!?!?!? They don't even know how often to service their own cars let alone what needs doing when they do get serviced. :(
