  clio 172 phase 1
Hi,

Just in tesco buying my wife the hunger game books when I got side tracked in the 'motoring section' and I noticed they to BMW,vauxhall,VAG,merc etc magazines but no RENAULT!!! Why is this and why can't we start one????

Any thoughts on this???

Re: Renault magazine?????

There's PFC (Performance French Cars) but it's not stocked everywhere.

Need to hunt for it.

I think I a few members inc my self should get together and start one!!! Why the hell not! Seems like a valid business and there is clearly a market out there for it!!

But 172/182 etc are becoming more affordable now which makes them a option for the younger driver meaning more to spend on insurance premiums

True dat.

Although if this does pick up you can do a feature on a totally standard r27 if you like :)... It'd give me an excuse to clean it lol. Chappers, you'd s**t bricks if you saw the state of it :p

Exactly!! You could run the magazine for years just featuring members cars!! Never mind the odd sleeper lying about etc....

Yup

You can actually see the way the air flows over the car in dirt :p
(90 miles a day ftl) hopefully that'll be changing soon though

I like reading about cars I've seen on the forums :) it saves me the hassle of reading through the threads I haven't followed ffrom the beginning ha

Sell it as a ebook? I think enthusiasts would chappers you know!! I love renaults alot!! and wouldn't change but I still look on autotrader an pistonheads on a regular basis because I love cars!!! And I think that would be the case alot and would be a chance to become loaded and finally own a 3.0 V6!!! Hahaha

I'm not sure if you are being serious mate but I'm playing devil's advocate and I don't think it will work.

You only have to look at the fact that PFC went out of business because they couldn't sell enough magazines. That had it's fair share of Renaults as well as Citroen and Peugeot.

If that can't sell enough then a Renault only mag definitely won't.

It's all very well trawling through Pistonheads and Autotrader but that is free and I'm sure many people do that, my flatmate does that and he has no intention of buying any magazines ever!

Sorry to ruin your V6 dreams, maybe you could pick up a Laguna V6 for cheap? ;)

TBF i'm surprised enough people buy the Ford, BM, VW etc mags to keep them going. Obviously there are lots of owners but surely only an absolutely minuscule number of them would buy a dedicated magazine.

I would mate, I'm trying to build a portfolio up so I'd be able to do it at a very good price and get rid of some swirls along the way, PM me if you are interested.

I will keep that in mind then , cant decide wheather to chop it in for a new one yet so bare with me, slightly off topic is your reg N---Cup only posted it up as spotted over on Renaultsport the other week, seen you by the roadworks at the end of Southmead Rd

Ah that's fine mate, let me know and I will sort you out :)

Yes that's mine, first time I've been spotted!

What you looking at trading in for?

Was looking at going for a Megane 265 but the missus found it too big, so might just go with another 200, depending on what the dealer comes up with, or just keep the UR

The Megane 265 is the step up and they are very nice indeed.

I'd be waiting to see the new Renaultsport release if I was going to get another Clio, should be some time soon I think!

But yea, let me know if you want anything doing with your current one, I've got a few good products for red that I use on my 1.2, not bad for a 12 year old car hey :)

I saw that when I was at the virgin active gym in bristol:

Looked a bit out of place TBH, chavvy little car with tints etc surrounded by businessman type cars.

Looked a tidy shell though. :)

Buy EVO. They are always banging on about Renaultsport cars. They really rate them highly. They've had several different models on the press fleet and almost every month there's some mention of them and head to head tests against other performance cars and invariably the Renault comes out on top

Not exactly going to feed the addiction some of us have to the older models though, or to the modifying side of things.

PFC does that though of course.

I dont think renault alone is a big enough market, the Ford and VW scenes for example have massive shows and huge followings so there is a much bigger readership than there would be for renault.

Plus printed car magazines are getting less and commercially viable all the time, many existing mags that were doing well have gone to the wall so it would be a real leap of faith to start a new one especially for such a niche market.
