Hi all,

So, I've finally admitted defeat on the brake issue and I'm going to get it transported somewhere for them to fix the bloody thing.

Any recommendations? Anywhere in Yorkshire would be ideal but don't mind going further afield.

I've emailed RickyRPM seeing if he could get it sorted, was going to message @MicKPM @ Diamond but he isn't open until end of May and I'd assume he'd be very busy once he's back open. Anyone used DDC?

Any other places I should be looking at?

Ta

You may have problems finding anybody open at the mo.
I know JSS Renault Specialists at Meadowhall is shut.
I have used DDC before and had no others.

Yeh, not the best of times to be trying to sort it is it? Just eager to get it fixed now.

Tbf, I'm happy to just drop it somewhere and someone have it for as long as needed really, doesn't need prioritising so they could look at it in-between jobs, at least it'd get it off my drive for a bit haha.

It's fucked.

Well, it kind of is. Long story short, I can't get air out the brakes.

No leaks anywhere, bled many litres of fluid through, changed the master cylinder, bled even more fluid through, used the RS Tuner to bleed the abs and still no good. It seems to get to a point where it brakes but takes a second or so to stop and the pedal can easily reach the bottom. Can't get it any better than that and tbh, I'm sick of having it up and down, up and down, up and down.

Sorry to hear this and yes you’re right it sounds like you need a specialist as I know it can be a bOstard when air gets in the ABS pump.

The ly Meg was outside jss when I passed on Monday so it may be worth dropping them a message.
I had DDC refurb my front calipers when one siezed and welded the pads to the disk. Had no issues since but I did think they were a tad expensive.
Kwik fit are still open aren't they?

Pretty sure someone else said that not so long ago?!?

Dryclough Lane Garage in Halifax. I used to use them all the time when I worked in Brighouse. Renaultsport specialists, according to themselves, did have a tidy collection of RS models including a spider and a v6

Didn't realise there were so many about tbh but it's good to see.

Anyway, dropped @MicKPM a (rather long) email of my failed efforts and he got back to me with some comforting words of reassurance that he'll be able to sort it, so that's where its going (y)

Ah shame, I was going to offer my services, managed to change my rear wipe blade yesterday which would mean I'm a certified mechanic.

As long as you dont have braided line clamp off all four brake hoses, see what pedals like.
If its spot on you pretty much know it's a brake caliper issue. Then remove each one until the pedal goes crap again.
If the above makes no difference pressure bleed at the same time as getting the pedal pumped manually.
That's sorted out 90% of crap pedals for me.

They're braided lines, thats how his issue started!

I would pressure bleed as above , then check both front/rear caliper slides are free and pads move ok in pad carriers.
Hope that helps

Yep, as @Louis said, all braided lines.

In summary, the pistons all move fine, no leaks anywhere, sliders are all free, bled several litres through via 2 man method and eezibleed, changed the master cylinder, bled even more fluid through, used rs tuner to bleed abs and its still spongy to the point there's no way it'll pass MOT.

Thanks for the advice but I've genuinely had enough of trying haha. I'd much rather pay someone at this point.
