Renault Vin/chassis Number

Got a bit confusing today at work.

Am I right in thinking all Renault have VF1 chassis numbers

Some ones registration today brought up a chassis number "VAKGOG****"
Even after I asked him to get it off his car it was the same.

Couldnt bring up any thing on the system at all

Am I just wrong in thinking they only start "VF1"




Some one shed some light.

Both my clios start with VF1,

would think that most would but with my 200, renault cant find anything on the system with the chassis number even though its right!

Its just confusing me as I thought "VF" means it was made in France and its Renault
